Not every trip needs a car for a whole weekend. Maybe you land in the morning and fly out in the evening, you need a car for an afternoon of sightseeing, or you only have a few hours between meetings. How a short rental works
- Choose the same date for pickup and return. In the search form, pick today (or any date) as the pickup, then pick the same date as the return.
- Set the times. For example, pickup at 10:00 AM and return at 4:00 PM. The return time must be later than the pickup time.
- Choose your car and pickup place. Collect it at Langkawi Airport (Door 2) or the Langkawi Ferry Jetty at no extra pickup fee.
- Book online. Pay in full, or pay a booking deposit to confirm the car. The booking deposit is part of the rental price.
How much does a short rental cost?
A rental shorter than 24 hours is charged as one full day, at the daily rate of the car you choose. There is no extra fee for renting fewer hours, and no separate hourly price.

When a short rental makes sense
- A long layover. You land in the morning and your flight leaves in the evening, so a car lets you see the island and return it at the airport.
- A half-day tour on your own. Drive to Kilim, Tanjung Rhu or Pantai Cenang and be back by afternoon. If you would rather not drive, book an island hopping tour instead.
- Business or errands. A few hours between meetings, or a trip to Kuah and back.
- A special evening. A dinner out, a sunset drive, or a convertible for the afternoon.
- Family visits. Pick up relatives from the airport or jetty and take them to the hotel.
Good to know before you book
- Pickup and return times. A pickup or return before 7:00 AM or after 11:00 PM carries a small odd-hour surcharge.
- Return on time. If you keep the car longer than booked, extra hours are charged. Plan a little buffer, especially before a flight.
