What to expect when you pick up your rental car.
What is the Security Deposit?
A security deposit is collected in cash or by card when you pick up your rental car. It acts as a refundable safeguard against any damage, loss, or other charges you may be responsible for during the rental period.
Once the car is returned, we inspect it and check for any traffic summons or fines incurred during your rental. Your security deposit is refunded within 7 days after the car is returned, by online banking transfer, less any deductions. Traffic summons can take several days to appear, which is why we wait before releasing the deposit. If there is any damage, summons or fine, we'll explain the deduction to you with supporting evidence (e.g. photographs or the summons notice) before refunding the remaining balance.
Before you drive off: please inspect the car
- Check the exterior and interior carefully, including any existing scratches or damage. Tell our staff about anything you see before you drive off.
- Take clear photos and a video of the whole car before leaving the pickup location, for your own record.
- Photos or videos taken after the car has left the pickup location cannot be used as proof of its condition at pickup.
- If there are new scratches or damage during the rental period, the repair cost will be deducted from the security deposit, depending on the extent of the damage.
